The Roost is a heart & soul Rock and Roll band whose influences are not of these times. The music is no frills and straight ahead with plenty of melody for good measure.
The band counts many of the British rock bands of the sixties and seventies as influences, along with the great American soul music burgeoning in the sixties.
The idea for the band was born out of a group of friends meeting every now and again and playing whatever came to mind. It was obvious they were all thinking the same thing. A few of Ronnie Mutone’s songs were recorded, and before they knew it, The Roost came to be.

The Roost are a five-piece unit consisting of:
	•	Ronnie Mutone - guitars and vocals
	•	Tony Albero - bass and backing vocals
	•	Mike Roze - Drums and percussion
	•	Clark Hung - piano and organ
	•	Dave Baker - guitar and backing vocals

Their early recordings feature a few more friends who came by to help the boys out; Ian McLagan (who has played with The Faces, Rod Stewart, and The Stones) on Hammond organ and piano as well as John Hawken (of The Nashville Teens, Spookytooth, and The Strawbs) on piano and Wurley, with Dennis Diken (of The Smithereens) on drums and percussion, all produced by Andy Johns. The 2003 debut CD by The Roost is available on On RPT Records.

Their 2005 ep, "Four Pence and A Prayer", garnered positive reviews and radio airplay both in the USA and Europe.
THE BIG ROOST NEWS IN 2007 is the release of their new tour-de-force CD Everyday Parade. The CD is available from RPT Records and features some of the strongest song-writing and full force rock and roll performances they have accomplished to date.
So, welcome to the on-line home of The Roost.

The Roost will be playing at Bodles Opera House on Friday, September 21st at 8:30
